Update Regarding Operations During COVID-19 Outbreak

UPDATE - March 15

In accordance with Governor J.B. Pritzker’s mandate to close all Illinois public establishments, the Museum will be closed to the public and has suspended ALL events and programs until at least Wednesday, April 7. Additionally, the Museum is suspending raffle sales for our East vs. West Fundraiser until after April 1st and will postpone the grand prize drawing. UPDATE - March 14

At this time, out of an abundance of caution, the St. Charles History Museum will be postponing scheduled events and programs through Friday, April 3rd, including the March 19th Evening at the History Museum Event and the April 3rd Stories at the History Museum.

Museum Undertakes Preventative Measures to Ensure Cleanliness

As the first cases of Coronavirus/COVID-19 were confirmed in Kane County earlier this week, the Museum has implemented new routine cleaning procedures to ensure the health and safety of Museum visitors.

The Museum will remain open during our normal operating hours, and at this time, all scheduled events and programs will continue. We are monitoring updates from local authorities closely, and any updates will be posted on our website, stcmuseum.org as well as our social media.

Museum staff are implementing new weekly cleaning procedures, including bleaching and sanitizing all surfaces in the Museum that routinely come into contact with visitors, including door handles, electronics, and buttons.

The Museum will also give the grand prize winner of our East vs. West Community Fundraiser Raffle to choose their grand prize between the trip or the cash value of $2,000. Click here for more information.
