Booming Business in the Beauty Spot of the Fox Valley to Explore Legacy of Local Business and Industry - Sponsored by Sterling Bank
Throughout the course of its history, businesses have been at the center of the St. Charles community. The stories of these businesses have been ingrained in the culture of St. Charles. Generations of residents have enjoyed the services of family-run businesses like the Blue Goose Market and Colonial Café and Ice Cream, as these companies have grown up along with the community to become true icons of St. Charles.
Alongside these mom and pop shops, industries and manufacturing have also helped mold St. Charles over the years. Some of these businesses include the Howell Manufacturing Company, which introduced tubular steel furniture in the 1930s, and the Cable Piano Factory, which produced high-quality and nationally-renewed pianos for nearly 100 years.
Other notable companies and businesses that have existed in St. Charles include Colson’s Department Store, St. Charles National Bank, and Heinz Cut Glass. Each of these businesses has its own distinct legacy to contribute that has helped shape St. Charles into the business-centric community it is today, and will continue to be for many years to come.
Join us as we celebrate the legacy of local business and the impact they have had on our community.
